Friends of BARC sponsors another Spay/Neuter event at BARC
We are pleased to announce another successful community Spay/Neuter event occurred at BARC on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
City of Houston residents were invited to pre-register their dogs and cats for sterilization surgery and a microchip for only $50 per animal.
Dr. Alana Canupp, an Empty the Shelter veterinarian from Florida, was on hand with her steady team of veterinary technicians to perform the surgeries, with the final tally of 67 dogs and cats.
Additional BARC staff and volunteer Ross Robinson kept the vet clinic running smoothly, and Friends of BARC provided a delicious breakfast and lunch to keep all those busy hands happy.
The next Spay/Neuter event with Dr. Canupp and her crew has already been planned for Sunday, November 15th for community dogs and cats. Registration will open within two weeks of that date.
We’re doing our part to help decrease the homeless pet population in Houston! Please help spread the word.
